BET+ just released the trailer for its upcoming horror thriller. Fatal Detour has influencers fearing for their safety as a crazed tech genius uses his abilities to lure them into his mansion. It stars D’Kia Anderson (A House Divided, Beauty in Black) and Shanica Knowles (Hannah Montana, Unfabulous) as best friends Donna and Laren.

The film will premiere on September 18. It’ll stream exclusively on BET+. Fatal Detour is directed and written by B. Harrison Smith, whose credits include Camp Dread (2014), Death House (2017), All I Want for Christmas (2021), and more.

What is BET+’s Fatal Detour about?

Now is the perfect time for the release of horror films. As Halloween season is creeping up quickly, and with the recent release of The Conjuring: Last Rites, the anticipation for more chilling films is at its peak. And Fatal Detour is here to deliver.

According to a press release, Fatal Detour‘s synopsis reads: “A demented tech genius lures unsuspecting influencers into his nightmarish mansion by hacking their luxury electric vehicles. Once trapped inside, the group faces the monstrous brute MOFF and his sadistic master. Two ordinary girls, Donna and Laren, who stumble upon the mansion, must fight to survive as they uncover the horrifying secrets behind the EV death trap.”

Alongside Anderson and Knowles, the cast also includes Jillisa Lynn as Juli (a model influencer quickly rising to fame), Aisha Kumari as Aisha (Juli’s jealous sidekick who is also a content creator), Jarrod Destiche as Blu (Juli’s calculated boyfriend), Mark Fleischmann as Tenzo (an inventive entrepreneur who snaps), and Pat Jankiewicz as Moff (a tough guy with superhuman strength).

The horror thriller is produced by Kevin Weisberg and Damien Douglas. In addition, Jason Harvey, Matthew Macur, Jared Safier, and Thomas Walton serve as executive producers. Musical composer Erick Schroder composes the score.
