“Take a chance on yourself, the reward is worth the risk.” — MadFlo Jr.

There are artists who demand respect and those who take it. Chicago musician MadFlo Jr. doesn’t need anyone to tell him how royal he can be. He’s aware, and it’s something you can hear in the single “Cane On Me.”

While the song itself highlights the artist’s confidence as one of the greats, the music video takes it up a notch. MadFlo Jr. can be heard saying lines such as “I be chained to the booth, I know I can be a legend” and “take the world for what it is, what you see is what you get,” which can serve as a reminder to those listening that the best is yet to come.

In the music video, Jr. sits in a chair with a variety of gold squares as his backdrop. With a cane in hand, MadFlo paints the picture of authentic success without leaving his seat.

“Cane On Me” is track nine on MadFlo Jr.’s latest project, The Duke of Tribal Kingdom.

Described as “Game of Thrones meets the Met Gala,” The Duke of Tribal Kingdom gives fans a tour of MadFlo’s creative world. The project starts with “The Breaker of Black Curses” for its intro. Then, each track features the artist speaking life into himself, capturing themes akin to the chapters of a novel.

From “Body Over Mine” to “No Attachments” and “Neighborhood Superstar,” Jr.’s contagious confidence will captivate anyone.
