I went to an advanced screening of ‘The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants’, and it was hilarious

Although I’ll never live in a pineapple under the sea, getting to watch SpongeBob SquarePants live that life was amusing as a child.

I was an avid watcher of the animation growing up, and even now (at my big age), I still watch an episode every once in a while. So when I got an email with the subject line “You’re Invited!” and saw it was for an advanced screening of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, there was no way I wasn’t RSVP-ing.

On Saturday, December 13, I found my way to the theater with my plus one (my sister) to see what trouble the yellow sponge would get himself into.

SpongeBob goes on a journey to prove that he’s a “Big Guy” in The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants.

There are no spoilers here because I believe in giving people a chance to watch things. According to the synopsis, SpongeBob hopes to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs, so he follows a mysterious, swashbuckling ghost pirate known as the Flying Dutchman on a seafaring adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the ocean.

While I was watching the film, and stuffing my face with popcorn (because, come on, movie theater popcorn is *chef’s kiss*), I couldn’t help but laugh. From start to finish, other people in the audience also couldn’t get enough of the silly things SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, and more had to say.

Paramount Pictures couldn’t have chosen a better time to release this family-friendly movie than around Christmas. It’s perfect for viewers of all ages to enjoy together.

Ice Spice made the best catchy tune for this film

Part of having a great animation is getting the right artists for the soundtrack. It was a smart move by Ice Spice and her team to become involved in The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants. Her voice is perfect for fun, catchy tunes, and “Big Guy” sets the tone for the production’s plot.
