Lil Baby, Victoria Monét and Usher took home prominent honors at ASCAP’s 2024 Rhythm & Soul Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 27.
The Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year award went to Lil Baby. The hip-hop star’s songs regularly live on the radio and charts. With a certified diamond record, platinum albums, sold-out shows, and a Grammy under his belt, this honor was well-deserved. The Atlanta native accepted the award at an invitation-only event.

Victoria Monét, after winning her first three Grammys in one night, continues to be a force in the industry. The triple threat was present to receive her ASCAP Vanguard award, recognizing her influence on the industry. Her authentic style and sound, which pay tribute to classic sounds from the past, have paved the way for her peers and new artists.
One of Monét’s most significant works, “On My Mama,” combines odes to Southern hip-hop culture and ’70s soul instrumentals. This song has stood out in her career with its unique blend of influences.

After a historic Las Vegas Residency and one of the decade’s best Superbowl Halftime Show performances, Usher keeps collecting wins.
In addition to his decades-long career, Usher was honored with the prestigious ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award for his influence on music and culture. Iconic producer Jermaine Dupri presented the award.
