Chlöe Releases Sophomore Album “Trouble in Paradise”

R&B singer Chlöe released her long-awaited sophomore album, Trouble in Paradise, on August 9. The album includes features from artists such as her sister Halle, Ty Dolla $ign, Anderson .Paak, and more.

Following the success of her debut solo album, In Pieces, released on March 31, 2023, Chlöe has once again struck a chord with her fans with the release of Trouble in Paradise, which is already receiving rave reviews.

The singer announced the album back at Coachella in April. At a certain point during her set, she told the crowd, “My album’s coming, Trouble in Paradise baby.” She teased the album again when she shared a post that read, “Warning Chlöe, trouble ahead.”

Earlier this year, the Grammy-nominated singer released two singles from the album, including “FYS” in March and “Boy Bye” in April, where she dived into an upbeat pop song with a catchy chorus that sings about a bad breakup and how she’s more than ready to move on.

Special appearances on Trouble In Paradise from a few artists

Trouble in Paradise also features tracks with talented artists such as YG Marley and Jeremih on songs titled “Never Let You Go” and “Shake.” These collaborations bring a fresh sound to the album, blending the artists’ unique styles with the album’s overarching theme of love, desire, and breakups.

The 16-track album features the reunion of Chlöe X Halle on a song called “Want Me.” This track, with its thought-provoking lyrics, imposes the question of why people are interested in those who don’t feel the same way about them.

The duo last came together in 2020 when they released their EP, Ungodly Hour, which featured popular songs like “Do It” and “Ungodly Hour.”

Chlöe described the album as her “personal diary,” a collection of songs that offer a glimpse into her inner world. “Songs from my diary, inspired by my favorite island. Trouble in Paradise and a few visuals to go along with will be yours at midnight,” the 25-year-old shared in an X (formerly Twitter) post.

The album shows the many talented sounds of Chlöe Bailey while also staying true to her R&B roots.
