Bravo, Marvel! Cue the confetti, bring out the cake — something — because Thunderbolts* exceeded my expectations. Not that they care or know that I exist, though! But nothing is better than going to the movies, not expecting to be blown away. And then, coming out of the theater…blown away!
I won’t spoil the plot (because that almost happened to me before I saw it while searching for the poster). However, I will say that Florence Pugh is an amazing actress. She makes you believe every word she says as Yelena! I also saw the movie in 3D at an AMC theater, which made the experience even better. If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, I recommend going to the movies — or what I like to call my two-hour escape from the real world.

Who is in Thunderbolts*?
The Marvel movie has an amazing cast full of skilled actors, including Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as John Walker / U.S. Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr, Lewis Pullman as Bob Reynolds / Sentry / Void, and David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian.
How long is the movie? Don’t spoil the plot, but what is it about?
Thunderbolts* has a run time of 126 minutes, which honestly goes by too fast. Without spoiling it, the movie is about a group of antiheroes caught in a deadly trap and forced to work together on a dangerous mission. It also discusses a very imperative topic.
How much has the film made at the box office so far?
With a budget of $180 million, the movie brought in about $330 million at the box office. It was just released on May 2 in the United States, so it still has some time left at the theaters to make more.
Any milestones?
Well, (so far) it’s the fifth highest-grossing film of 2025, just one spot ahead of Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, which is also an amazing movie.
