NFL legend Cam Newton and CBS Sports Analyst Ashley Nicole Moss to host new sports series

The 2025 BET Awards brought viewers legendary performances and nostalgic moments. Its culturally impactful series, 106 & Park, celebrated 25 years. During the ceremony, NFL MVP Cam Newton and CBS Sports Analyst, Reporter, and Host Ashley Nicole Moss revealed that they’re hosting a new spinoff of the music series dedicated to the top moments in sports.

106 & Sports will premiere this fall, and its tagline, “where sports meets culture, style, and real talk,” sums up the experience it aims to provide its audience.

According to a press release, the upcoming weekly series is a collaboration between BET Media Group and Fulwell Entertainment’s award-winning studio, SpringHill.

What is 106 & Sports?

While sports shows are on the rise, there’s a gap for shows that delve into the cultural side. 106 & Sports aims to fill this void with interviews, a countdown, and viral moments. Its episodes, which will be filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, will also feature unfiltered commentary.

The release states, “‘106 & Sports’ is a fast-paced, culture-forward countdown that breaks down the week’s Top 10 moments in sports—from viral highlights and locker room soundbites to championship fits and trending topics. Each episode delivers a dynamic blend of athlete interviews, unfiltered commentary, and real talk that lives at the intersection of sports and Black culture.”

In addition, 106 & Sports will also include audience-voted debates. All portions of the show will lead up to The Main Event, the #1 story of the week.
