Friday, the classic 1995 buddy comedy duo, is now streaming on Max to celebrate its 30th anniversary.

Ice Cube, Chris Tucker, Tiny “Zeus” Lister Jr., Nia Long, John Witherspoon, Regina King, Anna Maria Horsford, Bernie Mac, and more, turned the last weekday of the week into one heck of a day. So many iconic quotes were born, from “Bye Felicia!” to “I got mind control over Deebo. He be like shut the f**k up. I be quiet; but when he leave…I be talkin’ again.”

Written by Ice Cube—who played Craig—and DJ Pooh—who played Red (yes, Deebo took the chain his grandmama gave ’em), Friday became a “must-watch” film in Black culture.

Friday is now streaming on Max

From start to finish, the movie catches your attention no matter how many times you’ve watched it. If you’re like us, you know the script like the back of your hand.

True fans of the first installment of the film franchise have it on VHS (yeah, we’re getting old). However, if you don’t, here’s your chance to watch it for the 30th Anniversary on Max!

The hilarious plot that started it all

We’re sure we don’t have to explain the plot to most people, but if you’re new here — we got you!

Craig was fired from his job…on his day off. Yeah, they supposedly caught him stealing boxes (maybe he was trying to build a clubhouse?). So, as the nonchalant person, Smokey tries to help his friend forget about his troubles. Meanwhile, Craig’s dad (Mr. Jones, played by John Witherspoon) is like, “The word of the day is JOB. J.O.B.”

Smokey gets Craig to Smoke, you know, cause it’s Friday, he ain’t got no job, and he ain’t have sh*t to do. Little did Craig know that Smokey had him partaking in something that’ll have them scrambling to get Big Worm’s money back.

The entire film is basically their full Friday attempting to get this money by breaking into a neighbor’s house, asking an old fling for the funds, and stealing from Deebo (who was sleeping at Felicia and Debbie’s house).

Mr. Jones (Craig’s Dad): You got all the protection you need (pointing to Craig’s fists). You win some; you lose some. But you live, you live to fight another day. You think you a man with that gun in ‘yo hand, don’t you?

Craig: I’m a man without it!

Red: Man, my grandmama gave me that chain! (tears)

Smokey: You got knocked the f**k out!

Smokey:  Remember it, write it down, take a picture, I don’t give a f**k.

Ezal: Ohh, I’m hurt. Oh, my neck, my back. My neck and my back. Ohh, I want a hundred and fifty thousand…but we can settle out of court right now for 20 bucks.

Ezal: Big… foot… motherf**ker, you can have ya knife! ‘Cause I steal, I don’t kill

Deebo: Yeah, put that gun down son, and get knocked out like your father used to.
