A’ja Wilson (Aces) , Aliyah Boston (Fever), Kelsey Mitchell (Fever), Caitlin Clark (Fever), Breanna Stewart (Liberty), Paige Bueckers (Wings), Jessica Shepard (Wings), Gabby Williams (Valkyries), Olivia Miles (Lynx), and Natasha Howard (Lynx) are starters this year.
I’m very surprised that no Atlanta Dream player was named a starter, especially since they’ve been dominant besides the recent funk they’ve been in (I’m sure they’ll recover). However, Angel Reese, Rhyne Howard, and Allisha Gray are among the reserves, which was officially announced on July 7.
Other reserves include Sonia Citron (Mystics), Kiki Iriafen (Mystics), Jonquel Jones (Liberty), Marina Mabrey (Tempo), Dominique Malonga (Storm), Nneka Ogwumike (Sparks), Kelsey Plum (Sparks), Courtney Williams (Lynx), and Jackie Young (Aces).
All-Star Votes
WNBA All-Star voting ended on June 27. It was obvious that Minnesota’s Olivia Miles was a clear favorite; she’s been making her case for Rookie of the Year since the season began.
Plenty of big names added another All-Star selection to their achievements, including A’ja Wilson (she’s basically guaranteed a spot), Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, and Aliyah Boston. There were special 2-for-1 voting days on June 12, June 17, and June 24, when votes counted as double. As always, WNBA players and media members helped pick the All-Star starters.
According to the league’s official website, “Fans will account for 50 percent of the vote, while all current players and a media panel will account for 25 percent each.”
The 2026 WNBA All-Star Game, presented by AT&T, will take place in Chicago at the United Center on Saturday, July 25. You can watch it on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT.
When will the WNBA 3-point contest air?
This year’s State Farm 3-point contest and the Kia WNBA Shooting Stars will both air on Friday, July 24. Last year, New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu took home the 3-Point Contest title.
The league usually announces the list of players taking part as the event gets closer.
Which team won last year?
Team Collier took home the win, beating Team Clark 151-131. If you watched the game, there wasn’t any defense played. The players seemed to just be having fun since they were in the midst of fighting for better salaries, benefits, and more (which I’m so glad they got what they deserved).
