Drew Sidora and Pooch Hall are the latest stars to join Donald Variste’s Standing on Business stage play, which will take over Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida, on December 13.
The production, written and produced by Variste, a well-respected playwright and author, aims to raise awareness about domestic violence through emotional storytelling. Through his company, DV Productions, Variste has utilized his art to inform and entertain, incorporating a mix of drama, inspiration, and real-life reflection into his scripts.

Donald Variste’s stage play puts an emphasis on “standing firm in your purpose”
On September 2, Donald, a Florida native, revealed in an Instagram post that Standing on Business was returning by popular demand. He described the stage play as “powerful, soul-stirring, and unforgettable,” while promising to deliver “more energy, drama, laughter, and life-changing lessons” through new scenes and a new cast that includes The Game star Pooch Hall and Drew Sidora, who also made a few appearances on the early 2000s series as well as Real Housewives of Atlanta.
The synopsis reads:
Set in the heart of an urban community, the story follows several interconnected lives, each facing battles that test their morals, relationships, and beliefs. Beneath the laughter, heartbreak, and confrontation lies a deeper message—that standing firm in your purpose often means standing alone until your faith brings light to the darkness.
At the center of the story is a family torn apart by domestic violence, pride, and pain that has gone unspoken for years. When secrets are exposed and truths collide, the characters are forced to confront their past and decide what kind of legacy they want to leave behind.
According to a press release, Standing on Business shows that brokenness isn’t the end. Especially with forgiveness, healing, and courage at the center of your heart.
