The 4th annual Maconomics Wealth Summit, a three-day immersion into wealth, legacy, and community, will be hosted at the newly opened Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Founded by financial entrepreneur Ross Mac, the curated weekend of conversations and workshops will be held August 28-30. Events include a VIP Reception, an All-White Yacht Party, and the Celebrity Basketball Classic.

Attendees can expect to hear from celebrity speakers, including C-Suite financial executives, entrepreneurs, real estate professionals, and professional athletes. Announced speakers include President of BET Louis Carr, Grammy Award-winning entrepreneur Kandi Burruss, Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer of Luster Products Resa B. Luster, Chicago Bears legend Matt Forte, Black Enterprise Senior Editor Sidnee Michelle, and more.

According to Ross Mac, who has dedicated his life to “democratizing financial education,” attendees should leave with a playbook to build wealth as the wealthy do.

In a press quote, the entrepreneur, TV personality, and best-selling author said:

This year’s Maconomics Wealth Summit brings together CEOs, investors, and educators from real estate, investing, entrepreneurship, and entertainment all on one stage, at the illustrious Obama Presidential Center. Attendees won’t leave with just theory. They’ll leave with the actual playbooks the wealthy use to build, protect and multiply capital across generations. That’s always been the Maconomics promise, and year four is where we deliver it at the highest level yet.

Who is Ross Mac?

Ross is the host of Yahoo Finance’s video series Financial Freestyle, but his impact in Chicago goes beyond that. According to his official website, after moving back to his hometown, he aimed to uplift urban communities through financial empowerment. This led him to create Maconomics, a digital content series merging education and entertainment to share insights into finance.

The necessity of financial education

As someone who grew up in an underserved community, I know there are few resources to help residents make informed decisions about budgeting, saving, borrowing, investing, and protecting assets. Ross Mac’s ability to teach this in an entertaining way will continue to be a gift to those in need.
